I am an avid reader and I enjoy old books, but I am turned off by what is sometimes passed off as a high-quality e-book. You may have seen them: the ad says that the Table of Contents is enhanced (doesn’t work at all), properly formatted (it isn’t), and there has been little, if any, editing. Let’s add .epub books made from .pdf scans - unreadable characters and all. Lastly, let’s not forget the .epub made from a physical .pdf with pages upside down.

So, I have taken to learn how to edit and build e-books. I’m still learning. Some of what I’m learning will be posted here.
